To protect you and your mare, and to ensure a good experience, we always ask the stallion owners to follow our rules and guidelines. We have high expectations to the stallion owners we collaborate with, and we withhold all payments till you received what you payed for. If any issue should arise, you can call us 24/ throughout the whole thing.
Quality over quantity
We want to create a good relationship to breeding associations. Therefore, all stallions that are registered to Studly must be approved for breeding. That also means that you, as a mare owner, won’t be able to order any stallion on Studly if your mare doesn’t have the right paperwork and passport. When you order a covering for your mare on Studly, we collect your payment information. Regardless if the covering take place in two days or two months, Studly will withhold payment before it’s released to any party. This will give you and the stallion owner time to make sure that everything is as it should be. Read more here.

Information about your mare’s health is important – especially during a breeding season. When you order a stallion through Studly, we’re with you all the way. Together with the stallion owner, we see to that you’ll receive notice of anything that happens to your mare, such as illness, veterinarian checks and more. Frequently asked questions
If you don’t have a user on Studly yet, you can create one here. You can sign up via your e-mail. It’s completely free to create and register an account on Studly. When you create an account, make sure to fill out the information needed before you order a covering for your mare.
When you order a covering for your mare, you’ll be charged a reservation fee and a covering fee. In any case, Studly will withhold the payment before it’s given to the stallion owner, which will give you time to make sure that everything is okay. Generally, Studly will take a 10% service fee from every transaction that goes through the platform. On the stallion’s profile, you can see how much you have to pay for a covering.
You have to pay a reservation fee, because it will act as an order confirmation and agreement between you and the stallion owner. Naturally, it’s also your reservation. The reservation fee also acts as an assurance to the stallion owner that you will follow through with your booking of his or her stallion. As of such, the fee is not refunded in any way or form.
You ONLY have to pay the covering fee if your mare gets in-foal. When you book a stallion for your mare on Studly, payment will be charged over two times. First, you’ll have to pay the reservation fee, and later you’ll have to pay the covering fee (if your mare gets in-foal). In both cases, Studly will withhold the payment before it’s released to any party. If your mare doesn’t get in foal, send us documentation or veterinarians certificate and Studly will issue a refund for the covering fee.
When you place a request for covering on any stallion on Studly, the stallion owner has 24 hours to accept or decline. When the stallion owner accept your request, your order will be processed and you will receive a payment link via email charging you with the reservation fee. If the stallion owner declines your request, or if your request expires after 24 hours, then you don’t have to pay anything.
In both cases, you’ll get an email about the status of your request and if it has been accepted or not.
