Terms of Service

Last updated: [insert date before publishing]

Before you publish: this is a template, not legal advice. It covers the situations this app actually creates (AI-generated content, a monthly subscription, a one-time pass, EU consumers), but a lawyer should review and adapt it — especially the governing-law, refund, and liability sections — to your actual business entity and country before this goes live.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using Studly ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What Studly is

Studly generates practice exam questions and explanations using an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) based on the exam and subtopic you select. It is a study aid, nothing more.

3. Who can use Studly

You must be able to form a binding contract in your country to create an account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may still use the Service with a parent or guardian's permission, but purchases (Premium or an Exam Pass) must be made by an adult with authorization to use the payment method.

4. Your account

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Studly offers two paid options, both processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your full card details.

EU/EEA consumers — right of withdrawal: under EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a contract for digital content or services. Because Premium and the Exam Pass grant access immediately upon payment, by completing a purchase you acknowledge that the service begins right away and you consent to lose your right of withdrawal once that content has been made available to you, in line with Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU. Statutory rights for faulty digital content are not affected.

Prices are shown in EUR and may change with notice; changes won't affect a billing period you've already paid for.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Content and intellectual property

The Studly name, design, and non-AI-generated content belong to us. AI-generated questions and explanations are provided to you for personal study use; you may not republish them as your own commercial exam-prep product. Messages you send to the AI tutor or to friends within the app are yours, but you grant us the right to process them (including via Anthropic's API) in order to provide the Service.

8. Third-party services

Studly relies on other companies to work: Anthropic (AI question generation), Stripe (payments), and Supabase (accounts and data storage). Using Studly means your relevant data (e.g. your prompts to the tutor, your payment details for processing) is shared with these providers as needed to run the Service, under their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including exam results, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify active users (e.g. in-app or by email). Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

[Placeholder — specify the country/state whose law governs these terms and where disputes will be handled, based on where your business is legally established.]

13. Contact
